He's a decent C for sure but not one that drives the offense, his numbers are good in part due to his environment, he's been surrounded by great offensive players most of his career, he'd struggle to put up 15 goals and 40 points on this Habs team

Jeff Carter would be a much better option than Toews if they swing and miss on Tavares... Or even if by some miracle they were to land Tavares, Carter would still look great playing behind him
